Does this sound familiar to you: while your were beading, you accidentally spilled your tray with beads all over the floor (oops!..) or you opened your beadorganizer upside down. No? Lucky you!

You can use these mixed up beads (or you can purposely mix up some beads yourself) to create these colorful and playful earrings. These earrings will match with every outfit because practically all colors are in it!

What do you need:
– A hard, sharp needle;
– Thin thread;
– Mixed beads;
– Pompoms that you can embroider on;
– Stud earrings of your choice (In this example, round ones of 15 mm have been used);
– Scissors and possibly a bead mat.

1. Insert the needle through a small part of the pompom and tie your thread securely.

2. You can make the look of the beads exactly the way you want, so check in advance how many beads you want to string on 1 stem. In this example, between 3 and 5 beads per stem were chosen for a playful and irregular effect. If you want the ‘ball’ to be smaller, you can also make these stems with 2 to 3 beads.

3. Thread the preferred number of beads and thread back through the beads, but skip the first bead so that you create a stem.

4. Insert the needle back into the pompom at (almost) the same place where your thread came out. A small piece from the fabric of the pom pom is enough to secure, so you don’t have to pierce the entire pom pom.

5. Thread the next stem with the preferred number of beads. Embroider this stem close to the other stem and keep repeating this until your pompom is nice and full.

6. Tie your thread securely and, if necessary, go through your work a few more times so that the thread does not come loose.

7. Now hang a preffered ear stud on the eye of the pompom and you’re done!

This example shows you it’s possible to use diffrent earrings in stead of stud earrings.

Hopefully this post inspired you with these happy earrings. Have fun making and wearing them!
